Dayan Qigong (DYQG) is ancient school of comprehensive training system. It consists of tens set of “Static” and “mobile” sets of exercises. In its thousand years development journey, the school had come-acrossed two distinct focussing domains. They were “martial” in the first 300 years, and “health vitalizing / healing” in the later 500 years.
Taoist & Ancient Chinese Philosophies
DYQG was developed under the direction Taoism as well as the Chinese ancient philosophies of “YinYan”, “5-elements” and “meridian” .
Wild goose imitating
It’s “mobile” exercises are basically imitating postures of the wide goose. That is why the school is so named.
Through the gentle body movements and special postures, the exercise conducts internal Qi flow systematically. After practicing to certain period, qi flow along meridians will be strengthened. Hence, any meridian blockage would gradually be removed and discharged from the relevant acupuncture points. That are the how and why DYQG works. Using Qi Conducting for deceases healing and health vitalizing can be traced back to thousands years ago. In the Ancient Dun of Western Han Density (some 2500 years old), a colorful pictures of 44 Qi conducting posture and a qigong practice essay were discovered.
Healing theory
The Chinese ancient health and medication philosophies believe that both blood and body fluids are governed by internal qi. Meridian channels are the paths for qi to flow. Any blockage in meridian channel will result sluggish or prevent qi to arrive organs. Hence, illness or even fatal may result. DYQG is designed to cultivate internal qi and drive it forcefully along all meridian channels. Thereby, it helps to remove any blockage and regulate the whole meridian system. With adequate internal qi supply, illness and system disorder will be recovered gradually.
Practicing philosophy
DYQG follows the Taoism philosophy. It emphasizes on “tranquil” and “naturism”. This is the way towards “Taoist”. Moreover, the school stresses on both physical and spiritual development in parallel. The practice aims to achieve “relax”, “tranquil” and “empty”. To this end, a 3-step training model, namely “integrity’, “precise” and “practical”, is adopted.
